Built in 1942, the Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank in downtown Minneapolis exemplifies Streamline Moderne, the sleek phase of Art Deco design. The building is distinguished by bold relief sculptures of a farmer and a mechanic flanking the main entrance, created by Warren T. Mosman, who directed the sculpture department at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Now converted to a Westin Hotel, the structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
