Constructed in 1865 on the rocky peninsula of La Isleta near Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, this 10-metre lighthouse was designed by Juan León y Castillo. Positioned at the northeastern tip of the island, the beacon marks the approaches to the Port of Las Palmas and remains active today, standing between the Sardina lighthouse to the east and the Punta de Melenara lighthouse of Telde to the south.
