The Feyziyeh Madrasa is a theological school in Qom, Iran, founded during the Safavid era and developed further under Qajar rule. Built from tile, plaster, and brick, it exemplifies the refined architectural traditions of these periods. Beyond its architectural significance, the madrasa holds prominent place in twentieth-century Iranian history as a center of clerical resistance to Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's modernization programs. It became especially notable as the venue for Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's 1963 Ashura speech condemning the Shah, an event that precipitated Khomeini's arrest and marked a pivotal moment in the opposition to the Pahlavi regime. Designated a national monument in 2008, the school remains an important cultural property documenting both Islamic educational architecture and modern Iranian political history.
