The Flatiron Building is a historic two-story structure in downtown Portland, Oregon, designed by Frederick Manson White in the Chicago School style. Situated at the convergence of West Burnside, SW Stark, and 12th Streets, the building's defining feature is its distinctive triangular footprint, shaped by the constraints of its lot. When it opened, it was promoted as the "smallest commercial building on the West Coast," a distinction that has remained central to its identity throughout its history. The building has housed various commercial enterprises over time, including a catering kitchen and a talk radio station, and now operates as a McMenamins pub. Designated a Portland Landmark in 1988, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
