Freiburg Minster is the cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau in southwest Germany, built of dimension stone to a height of 116 metres. Construction began around 1200 in Romanesque style under the last duke of Zähringen and continued from 1230 in Gothic style, partly on the foundations of an earlier church from 1120. It became a cathedral in 1827, when it was made the seat of the newly established Catholic Archdiocese of Freiburg.
