Completed in 2001, the Frist Campus Center at Princeton University represents a modern addition to the historic Palmer Physics Lab, designed by the acclaimed firm Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates—founded by Princeton alumnus Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown. The Collegiate Gothic structure combines the existing Palmer Hall with a new volume that fills its original C-shaped courtyard and extends across the open side to create a unified east facade. Funded by the Frist family fortune derived from private hospital enterprises, the center serves as a focal point for student social life. Room 302 preserves the lecture hall where Albert Einstein once taught, maintained in its historic condition. The building underwent extensive renovations on its 100 level in 2008 and 2009 by James Bradberry Architects.
