The General Post Office stands on O'Connell Street in central Dublin, Ireland, and remains the registered office of An Post and the city's principal post office. Begun in 1814 to designs by Francis Johnston, it combines Greek Revival and Georgian architecture and was the last great Georgian public building erected in the capital. It is best known as the headquarters of the leaders of the Easter Rising against British rule.
