Ghent City Hall is a four-sided complex in East Flanders, Belgium, occupying a block bounded by the Botermarkt, Hoogpoort, Stadhuissteeg, and Poeljemarkt. Its principal components are the late-Gothic alderman's house of De Keure and the Renaissance-style alderman's house of Gedele, reflecting the city's architectural evolution across centuries. The structure encompasses 51 halls and represents a palimpsest of styles—Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque—shaped by numerous builders and architects including Dominikus De Waghemakere, Rombout II Keldermans, Jacob Franquart the Younger, Jean Baptiste Pisson, and later interventions by figures such as Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. As a protected monument, it stands as a significant civic monument documenting Ghent's administrative and cultural heritage.
