The Gleneagles Hotel was a 41-bed hotel in Torquay, Devon, in the Torbay area, opened in the 1960s in the modern architectural style. It inspired the British sitcom *Fawlty Towers* after John Cleese and Connie Booth stayed there and observed the eccentric behaviour of co-owner Donald Sinclair. The hotel closed in February 2015 and was replaced by retirement apartments.
