Amherstburg, Canada

The Gordon House is a Georgian-style historic house in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, built in 1798, two years after the town's establishment. Originally located along the Detroit River in the merchants' quarters, the three-storey house was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1976 after the town intervened to halt its planned demolition. In 1987, after more than a decade of legal battles, it was moved to its current site, where it now houses Amherstburg's tourism office.
