The Grand-Place, also called Grote Markt, is the central square of Brussels, Belgium, surrounded by opulent Baroque guildhalls, the Flamboyant Town Hall, and the neo-Gothic King's House, which houses the Brussels City Museum. Most of it was destroyed by French bombardment in 1695, and the surrounding houses were rebuilt in the following years. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
