The Great Market Hall, also called the Central Market Hall, stands on Fővám square in Budapest District IX, on the Pest side of the Liberty Bridge, at the end of the pedestrian shopping street Váci utca. Designed by Samu Pecz in the Art Nouveau style, it is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest. It opened on February 15, 1897, and was the largest investment of the city's first mayor, Károly Kamermayer.
