The Great Mosque of Nablus, in the State of Palestine, is the oldest and largest mosque in the city of Nablus. Originally built as a Byzantine church, it was converted into a mosque during the early Islamic era, became a church under the Crusaders in the 11th century, and was reconsecrated as a mosque by the Ayyubids in the 12th century. It stands at the intersection of the main streets of the Old City, has a long, narrow rectangular floor plan, and is topped by a silver dome.
