Groton High School
Groton, United States

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The former Groton High School stands at 145 Main Street in Groton, Massachusetts, a two-story brick building with a flat roof and a pedimented central gable. Its central section was designed by Henry M. Francis and built in 1871 in the Second Empire style, then named the Butler School for long-serving town clerk Caleb Butler. Extensive alterations in the late 1920s, after a 1925 fire, added wings and gave the building its present Colonial Revival appearance. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
