The Hanover County Courthouse stands in Hanover Courthouse, the county seat of Hanover County, Virginia, and is built in the Georgian style. Dating from about 1735, it is among the nation's oldest courthouses still in use for that purpose. It was the site of the Parson's Cause case, argued by Patrick Henry in 1763, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973.
