Located in Storm Lake, Iowa, the Harker House is a two-story Second Empire residence built in 1875 from locally produced brick and attributed to Fort Dodge architect James Harker. The house exemplifies the Second Empire style with its distinctive mansard roofs crowned by dormer windows, a mansarded tower, bracketed cornice, hooded windows and doors, projecting bays, and highly decorative single-story porches. It remains the only surviving local house of this architectural style that has neither been demolished nor substantially altered, making it a textbook example of the period's aesthetic. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
