Henry K. and Mary E. Shaffer House
Loveland, United States
Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The Henry K. and Mary E. Shaffer House is an English-Norman cottage in Loveland, Colorado, built in 1928–1929, a modest, simplified version of Tudor Revival architecture. Mary E. Shaffer designed it and her husband, Henry K. Shaffer, a building contractor, built it. Its distinguishing feature is walls of odd-sized, multicolored "clinker bricks" that Mary gathered from a local brickyard to save money, laid at odd angles. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
