Hilbre Island Lighthouse stands on Hilbre Island in Merseyside, England, serving as a port landmark for the Hilbre swash in the River Dee estuary. Established in 1927 by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, now the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company, it has been operated by Trinity House since 1973. The 3-metre tower's light sits 14 metres above mean high water and has a range of 5 nautical miles. It was converted from acetylene gas to solar power in 1995.
