Hirsau Abbey, formerly Hirschau Abbey, was one of Germany's most important Benedictine abbeys. It stands in the Hirsau borough of Calw on the northern slopes of the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg. In the 11th and 12th centuries it was a centre of the Cluniac Reforms, implemented in German lands as the Hirsau Reforms under William of Hirsau. The complex was devastated in 1692 during the War of the Palatine Succession, never rebuilt, and its ruins later served as a quarry.
