In the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, Oklahoma, the Holy City of the Wichitas is a 66-acre public park and outdoor theater constructed from locally sourced granite. Designed in the National Park Service rustic style, the historic district recreates ancient Jerusalem during Biblical times and features eighteen stone structures including shrines, watchtowers, and a large stage, alongside a museum, gift shop, and interactive displays. The site is anchored by the Christ of the Wichitas statue and the World Chapel, an on-site church adorned with murals by artist Irene Malcolm. The park is home to North America's longest continuously running Easter Pageant, "The Prince of Peace," which has been staged annually since 1926. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Holy City of the Wichitas remains a unique cultural and religious venue.
