Hong Kong Central Library, in Causeway Bay in Wan Chai District, is the territory's national library and the headquarters of Hong Kong Public Libraries. Built in 2001 in the Neoclassical style, the 12-storey building faces Victoria Harbour. Its arch-shaped front doorway, the Gate to Knowledge, combines a circle, square and triangle representing sky, land and the accretion of knowledge.
