Located near the centre of Hooge village in Belgium's West Flanders, about 4 kilometres east of Ypres, Hooge Crater Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission burial ground designed by Noel Ackroyd Rew and Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1917. Named after a mine crater detonated nearby in 1915, the cemetery sits on the Bellewaerde Ridge in the Ypres Salient, one of the Western Front's bloodiest sectors. Separated from the Hooge Crater Museum by the Menin Road, it stands as a designated heritage monument to the dead of the First World War.
