Hopkins Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Built between 1836 and 1838 by Albert Hopkins and his students, it is the oldest extant observatory in the United States. The building was moved in 1908 and again in 1961 to its present site, where it now serves as a planetarium and still houses its original transit, regulator clock with mercury-compensated pendulum, and rule.
