Hounslow West is a London Underground station on the Piccadilly line's Heathrow branch in the London Borough of Hounslow, located on Bath Road near the Great West Road. Originally opened as Hounslow Barracks in 1884 on the District Railway, the station acquired its current name and was substantially rebuilt following Charles Holden's 1931 design for the station building. The extension of the Piccadilly line to Heathrow Airport in the 1970s necessitated further modifications, including the relocation of platforms and construction of new surface buildings designed by Stanley Heaps to connect with the existing structure. The station features an island platform with step-free access via stairlift and operates in London fare zone 5.
