The House of Soviets was an unfinished 21-storey Soviet Modernist and Brutalist structure designed by Lev Valentinovich Misozhnikov in Kaliningrad, an exclave of Russia. Built on the site of the 13th-century Königsberg Castle, the 50-meter-long building was intended to serve as the central administration building for Kaliningrad Oblast. Its monumental, fortress-like form earned it the local nickname "buried robot" for its resemblance to a giant robotic head sunk into the ground. The building remained incomplete and vacant throughout its existence until demolition began in 2023, concluding in August 2024.
