The House of the Temple is a Masonic temple at 1733 16th Street NW in Washington, D.C.'s Dupont Circle neighborhood, serving as headquarters of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction. Designed by John Russell Pope in the Neoclassical style and built beginning in 1915, it was modeled after the tomb of Mausolus at Halicarnassus. The building also houses one of the world's largest collections of material on Scottish poet Robert Burns outside Scotland.
