House with Chimaeras
Kyiv, Ukraine

The House with Chimaeras, also called the Horodetsky House, is an Art Nouveau building in Kyiv's Lypky neighborhood, Ukraine. The Polish architect Władysław Horodecki designed it as an upmarket apartment building in 1901–1902. Its popular name comes from ornate sculpted animals and hunting scenes, reflecting Horodecki's passion for hunting, rather than from mythological chimaeras. Across Bankova Street from the President of Ukraine's office, it has been used as a presidential residence for official and diplomatic ceremonies since 2005.
