The Idaho State Capitol in Boise, home of the state government, was built from 1905 to 1920 in the Beaux-Arts style. Architects John E. Tourtellotte and Charles Hummel, working as Tourtellotte & Hummel, designed it at a final cost of just over $2 million. Its sandstone exterior was quarried at the state-owned Table Rock site in Ada County. It is a contributing property in the Boise Capitol Area District on the National Register of Historic Places.
