The Inbe Hachiman-yama Kofun is a zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole-shaped burial mound) located in Wakayama, Japan, and dates to around 600 CE. This ancient funerary monument exemplifies the distinctive Japanese kofun architectural form, characterized by its distinctive keyhole silhouette when viewed from above—combining a circular mound with an attached rectangular platform. Built during Japan's Kofun period, such monumental earthworks served as tombs for the elite and represent some of the world's largest prehistoric burial structures.
