Innsbruck Cathedral, also called the Cathedral of St. James, is a Baroque cathedral and parish church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Innsbruck in Innsbruck, Austria. Built in brick between 1717 and 1724 to designs by Johann Jakob Herkomer, it replaced a twelfth-century Romanesque church on the same site. Its lavish interior, partly executed by the Asam brothers, is considered among the most important Baroque interiors in the Tyrol, and it houses Lucas Cranach the Elder's Maria Hilf above the main altar.
