The Istanbul Military Museum is a museum of military history in Şişli, Istanbul, housed in an Ottoman-style building dating from 1846 and attributed to Garabet Amira Balyan. The museum focuses on Turkic history and holds a large collection of Turkish military equipment from the 13th century to the present. The Turkish Armed Forces founded it in its modern form in 1959 and still operate it. Critics have noted its propagandistic displays and its omission of non-Turkish perspectives.
