Jægerspris Castle stands in Jægerspris on the Hornsherred peninsula in Frederikssund Municipality, Denmark, west of Copenhagen. Built in the baroque style in 1722, it has belonged to the Danish monarchs for most of a history reaching back to the 13th century, and today operates as a historic house museum. It is best known for its park, where the sculptor Johannes Wiedewelt erected monuments around 1770 commemorating famous Danish and Norwegian men and women.
