The Cathedral of the Assumption in Jaén, Spain, is a Roman Catholic cathedral conceived in the 16th century to replace an earlier 15th-century Gothic edifice. Construction lasted several centuries while keeping the original idea. Its chapter house and sacristy, masterpieces of Andrés de Vandelvira, are important examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture, while the façade is Baroque with sculptures by Pedro Roldán and the Neoclassical choir is among the largest in Spain.
