Evanston, United States

The James B. Irving House is a Prairie School house at 2771 Crawford Avenue in Evanston, Illinois, designed by John S. Van Bergen, a former employee of Frank Lloyd Wright, and built in 1928. Its stucco exterior, bands of ornamental wood, rows of casement windows, and low hip roof with wide overhanging eaves reflect the style, and its split-level interior allows separate floors while keeping the house low to the ground. Originally built at 1318 Isabella Street in Wilmette, it was moved to its present site in 2014–15 to avoid demolition, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
