The John Balzer Wagon Works Complex stands in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. John W. Balzer, a German emigrant, established a one-man wagon and sleigh shop on the site in 1853. The complex includes a three-story cream brick factory built in 1887 that has changed little inside or out since construction. Its floors once housed blacksmithing, woodworking, and the painting and trimming of wagons, linked by a large freight elevator.
