The John Dickinson House, generally known as Poplar Hall, is an Early Georgian mansion on the John Dickinson Plantation in Kent County, Delaware, about 5 miles south of Dover. Judge Samuel Dickinson, father of Founding Father John Dickinson, built it in 1739–40, and wings followed in 1752 and 1754. Damaged in a British raid in 1781 and nearly destroyed by fire in 1804, it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and is now a museum run by the State of Delaware.
