The Jussarö Lighthouse, also called the Sundharu Lighthouse, stands on the uninhabited Sundharu skerry about 4 kilometres south of Jussarö island, off Raseborg in the western Gulf of Finland. Completed in 1922 of reinforced concrete and 25 metres tall, it replaced an earlier light on Jussarö itself and was the first lighthouse in Finland designed for automatic operation from the outset. Its acetylene gas light, stored in a tank needing refilling only once a month, gave way to a wind-powered source in 1984, with a solar panel added in 1999.
