The Kandovan Tunnel, officially the 11th Tunnel, is a road tunnel on Chalus Road in Iran, crossing the Alborz range to link Alborz and Mazandaran provinces. Completed in 1938 as one of the first tunnels in Iran, its 1,883-metre bore kept the route from Tehran to the Caspian Sea passable in harsh winters. Built of stone and concrete in the Pahlavi architectural style, it stands 6 metres high.
