Karlstor is a medieval Gothic city gate at the western end of Neuhauser Straße in Munich, Germany. Called Neuhauser Tor until 1791, it served as a defensive fortification and checkpoint and separates the historic centre from the 19th-century Ludwigvorstadt. It is the westernmost of three surviving Gothic town gates and takes its present name from the nearby Karlsplatz, known as Stachus. Architect Arnold Zenetti is credited with the building, which is protected as an architectural heritage monument in Bavaria.
