The Kasli cast iron pavilion is a 9-meter-high exhibition structure built in 1899 from cast iron, exemplifying Byzantine Revival architecture. Created using Kasli iron sculpture techniques—a celebrated Russian tradition of decorative metalworking—the pavilion represents both a technical achievement in cast iron construction and an aesthetic statement in the ornamental tastes of the late nineteenth century. Its Byzantine Revival style, executed entirely in cast metal, demonstrates the sophisticated capabilities of Russian ironworks during this period.
