Kazan Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, is an Eastern Orthodox church on the northwest corner of Red Square in Moscow. Dating its inception to 1625, the church was built in brick in the Russian Revival style. The original was destroyed on Joseph Stalin's orders in 1936, and the current building is a reconstruction of it.
