Kelmscott House is a Grade II* listed Georgian brick mansion at 26 Upper Mall in Hammersmith, London, overlooking the River Thames. Built in about 1785 as The Retreat, it was the London home of textile designer, artist, writer and socialist William Morris from 1878 to 1896, who renamed it after the Oxfordshire village of Kelmscott, where he leased Kelmscott Manor as a country retreat. Nearby, at 16 Upper Mall, Morris started his Kelmscott Press in 1891.
