The Khost Mosque is the largest mosque in the southeastern Afghan city of Khost, designed to accommodate up to 2,000 worshipers during prayer. Built in the Islamic architectural tradition, it serves as the principal place of worship in a city that also contains several smaller mosques, including the Yaqoubi Mosque, which suffered a devastating attack in May 2018 when explosives detonated inside the structure.
