Khur Ab Anbar is a Safavid-era cistern structure located in Khusf County, Iran, designated as an Iranian national heritage site. Built using traditional materials—saruj (a durable clay-based mortar), lime mortar, brick, and stone—the ab anbar exemplifies the water-storage architecture characteristic of Safavid Iran. These underground or partially subterranean reservoirs were essential infrastructure in arid regions, designed to collect and preserve water for communities and travelers. The structure reflects both the practical engineering and architectural aesthetics of its period.
