Carved into the sandstone cliffs of Kinver Edge in Staffordshire, the Kinver Rock Houses are a remarkable series of troglodyte dwellings that exemplify rock-cut architecture on English soil. These cave dwellings, hollowed directly from the escarpment, remained inhabited until the mid-twentieth century, making them the last occupied homes of their kind in England. Today managed by the National Trust, they stand as a distinctive testament to an ancient form of domestic habitation and are accessible to the public as a heritage site.
