Kirche am Hohenzollernplatz, located on the eastern side of Hohenzollernplatz in Berlin's Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, is a leading example of Brick Expressionism completed in 1933. Designed by Joseph Klarwein and Johann Friedrich Höger, the Evangelical church was constructed in clinker and brick, materials that define its distinctive expressionist aesthetic. Originally intended to bear a temporary name until a more suitable alternative could be chosen, the designation after the city square ultimately endured despite ongoing debate. Today the building stands as a significant testimony to the exceptional quality of expressionist church architecture that flourished in Berlin during this period and is protected as both a cultural and architectural heritage monument.
