The Kishi Memorial Gymnasium, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kenzō Tange, was completed in 1941 in the Jinnan district of Tokyo. The structure stood for nearly eight decades before its demolition in 2019. As an early work by Tange, who would become one of the twentieth century's most influential architects, the gymnasium represented important developments in modern Japanese architectural practice during the pre-war period.
