The Koshare Indian Museum in La Junta, Colorado, is a tri-level art and scouting museum built in Pueblo Revival style and located on the Otero Junior College campus. Constructed in 1949, the building features an attached kiva with the world's largest self-supporting log roof. The museum displays works by Pueblo and Plains tribal artists and serves visiting Boy Scout troops en route to Philmont Ranch with discounts and hostel accommodations. Listed on the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties, the museum has nevertheless faced long-standing criticism from Native American communities for cultural appropriation in its associated Koshare dance performances, which scholars have identified as perpetuating racial discrimination.
