The Kraków Barbican is a Gothic brick fortified outpost in Kraków, Poland, begun in 1498 and once linked to the city walls. It forms a historic gateway into the Old Town and is one of the few surviving relics of the fortifications that once encircled the royal city. Today it is run by the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, which offers visitors tours of its interior and hosts exhibitions on the development of the city's defences.
