La Boqueria, formally the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, is a large public market in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Spain, in the El Raval area. Dating from 1914, it is built in the Catalan modernist style with cast-iron architecture and holds urban heritage protection. Its entrance opens from La Rambla, near the Liceu opera house, and it sells a very diverse range of goods.
